Examinations

Students are offered the opportunity to take examinations and medal tests in Ballet, Tap, Modern, National, Jazz, Musical Theatre and Drama. Examination fees are set by the relevant examination boards and must be paid at least eight weeks prior to the examination date. Students who have not paid by this deadline will be withdrawn from the session.

Students wishing to enter examinations are expected to maintain excellent attendance and commitment. Additional classes may be recommended to support exam preparation. Where these classes are already part of a student’s timetable, they will be provided free of charge; however, any additional classes required outside of the timetable will incur an extra fee.

For progression and best preparation, the following class attendance is advised:

  • Students taking Grade 2 and above in Modern are encouraged to attend a weekly Limbering class.
  • Students taking Grade 2 and above in Ballet are encouraged to attend two Ballet classes per week.
  • Students taking Grade 6 and above in Ballet must attend a weekly Pointe Work class.

Private lessons may be available, timetable permitting, for students who would benefit from additional examination support. These lessons are offered at an additional cost. Please speak to your class teacher to arrange a suitable time.
